Daughter of Joseph Edward Willard and Belle Layton Willard.

Mrs. Kermit Roosevelt, daughter-in-law of President Theodore Roosevelt; died of cancer in her Manhattan home Saturday. She was 75.

Her husband died in 1943 while on active duty as an Army major in the Aleutian Islands.

Mrs. Roosevelt was born in Baltimore. Her father, Joseph E. Willard, owned the Willard Hotel in Washington and was ambassador to Spain under President Woodrow Wilson.

She resided for many years in Oyster Bay, Long Island, where her father-in-law had a home.

In 1944, when all the Oyster Bay Roosevelts supported Republican Gov. Thomas E. Dewey for President, she campaigned for Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt's reelection to a fourth term.

She had four children, three of whom are living. They are Kermit Jr., J. Willard and Mrs. Belle (Clochette) Palfrey. There are 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Herbert, resides in England.
