Union Civil War Veteran. Born in New Jersey, he later traveled west and settled near Cincinnati, Ohio. During the Civil War, he answered President Lincoln's call for volunteers and enlisted to serve the Union Army. He was mustered into service on August 15, 1862 for three years' service as a Private in Company F of the 83rd Indiana Infantry. The war ended before his term expired and so he was mustered out on June 1, 1865 in Washington D.C. Beebe was married to Lucinda Beebe and they had three children; John R., Daniel, and Elizabeth.
