His other notable films include, "Story of a Love Affair" (1950), "The Adventure" (1960), "The Red Desert" (1964), "Three Faces of a Woman" (1965), "Zabriskie Point" (1969), "The Passenger" (1975) and "Beyond the Clouds" (1995). He received an honorary Oscar in 1995.
