U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the law department of the University of Utah, in 1926, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was Attorney of Davis County, (1926-34), Mayor of Layton, (1935-39) and a member of the Utah State Senate, (1940-44). He was elected as a Republican to the Eightieth Congress, serving (1947-49) and elected to the Eighty-third, Eighty-fourth and Eighty-fifth Congresses, serving (1953-59). After his term he was vice president of Zions First National Bank, (1959-69).
