Julia had given birth to 12 children, 10 of whom survived to adulthood - Joseph, Anton, Leo, Paul, Albert, Peter, Wenzel, Anna, Steven and Rose. John Jr, the oldest sibling was Julia's stepson (child of John Sr and his 1st wife Augustyna Kairkowski). August died when he was just 2 years old and another child, Martha, died when she was 11 months old.
John Sr died in 1906 while cutting down a tree, Julia and the family continued to farm until 1917 when the sons started to emigrate to Milwaukee. John Jr, Anton, Leo, Paul and Albert were the first to move. Julia and the rest of the family moved to Milwaukee circa 1919. Joseph moved to Milwaukee but stayed only 2 years before moving back to the farm.
Julia never remarried and raised the children by herself. She died in 1955 at the age of 89; she was preceded in death by husband John and sons John Jr, Joseph, August and daughter Martha

Beloved mother of Anthony, Leo, Paul, Albert, Peter, Wenzel and Steve Schwabe, Anna Gostomski and Rose Johnson, Gladstone Mich. mother-in-law of Mary, Mamie, Martha, Pearl, Anna, Stella Schwabe, Joseph Gostomski, Vincent Johnson and Nettie Schwabe, Marshfield Wis; also survived by 38 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services Sat. at 8:30 am. from the Bruskiewicz Funeral Home 2101 W. Mitchell St. to ST. VINCENT's Church at 9 a.m. Interment St. Adalbert's cemetery. Member of the Third Order of St. Francis of St. Hyacinth's church. Rosary Fri. 6:30 pm. Member of St. Ann society, group 82; Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart societies parish vigil , 7 pm. In state Fri. 1 pm.
