Professional Football Player. Born Albert Marcellus DeMao in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. He played at the center and linebacker positions for nine seasons (1945 to 1953) in the National Football League with the Washington Redskins. A standout player during his collegiate years at Duquesne University, DeMao was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame in 1972. After serving in the United States Military during World War II, DeMao appeared in 97 career regular season NFL games. He died from complications of pneumonia.
