Mrs. Allen was born January 24, 1933, in Waycross, daughter of the late Elbert T. Green and Mildred Taylor Green. She had lived in La- Grange most of her life and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen was employed with PlayTex for over 20 years and she planned all the parties for Play-Tex for 10 years. She loved traveling, working outdoors with her flowers, and fishing locally and in Florida. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Paul Allen.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Billy Pierce of LaGrange; two step daughters and one step son-in-law, Donna and Tim Stewart of LaGrange and Susan Allen of LaGrange; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Eloise Rowan of Quitman, Lillian and Noah Young of Jacksonville, Fla., and Maxine Hadaway of Atlanta; and one brother, Elbert Green of Nahunta.
Graveside funeral services were held 2:00 P.M. today, March 7, 2007 in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Robinson officiating.
