Mary Dawes Abney, 73, Watts Road, widow of Joe Abney, died at 3:30 P. M. Monday at the Clark Co. Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Estill Co., Ky. & a member of the Franklin Ave Church of God. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Robert Tapp & Mrs. Gilbert Richardson, Winchester, Ky.; Mrs. Clay Whitaker, Douglas, Arizona, & Mrs. Ernest Renfro, St. Petersburg, Florida, two sons, Ishmael Abney, Smyrna, Tenn., & Joe H. Abney, Winchester, Ky.; 15 grandchildren & eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A. M. Wednesday in the Scobee Funeral Home by the Rev. Lindsey Croft. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery, Winchester, Clark Co., Ky. Pallbearers will be Tom A. Sparks, Andy Walters, Harold Johnson, Zach Charles, Harvey Stone & Charles Reffitt. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call.
