During the 1940s, he worked for 20th Century Fox as an arranger contributing to numerous musicals and shared an Oscar nomination with Lionel Newman for the 1960 picture "Let's Make Love". His other notable television credits are, "Make Room for Daddy", "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.", "That Girl", "The Mod Squad" and "Eight Is Enough".
