Florence Elizabeth (Dimmitt) Waller, the daughter of Clinton and Edith Dimmitt, was born March 30, 1926 in Mount Vernon, Indiana. The early years of her life were spent in Mount Vernon where she joined the A.M.E. Church under the pastorate of Reverend Matthew Lowe.

She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Mount Vernon, Indiana.

In 1946, Florence united with Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Indianapolis, Indiana. In the words of Florence, "The Lord touched my life on July 9, 1967 and I will never be the same, my spiritual awakening is the greatest thing that ever happened to me." Her spiritual journey began with her baptism. She served faithfully at Allen Chapel as a member of the Fora Grant Missionary Society and was licensed an Evangelist in 1974 in the A.M.E. Church. She continued her evangelical ministry throughout her life. She dedicated herself to inspiring others with continuous words of prayer and support, visits, phone calls, especially in spreading the Word of Christ through her Bible Reading and Daily Bread prayers guides. The gospel message of forgiveness was her life.

She retired from RCA in 1967 after 22 years. She returned to the work force in 1972 and retired from Methodist Hospital as a nurses aid after 12 years of service.

On February 8, 1943, she united in marriage to Ulysses "Sparky" Waller and to this union four loving children, Judy (Waller) Edwards, Pamela (Waller) Wood, Garland Waller and Keith Waller, were born.

God called Florence Elizabeth Waller home on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 9:50p.m. at the age of 77.
