Family genealogists are perplexed about the date of Hannah's death and the birth of her youngest child, Luke. Hannah is said to have died in 1822 or 1824, yet Luke was reportedly born in 1825. There is something wrong there, but not knowing which is in error, earlier genealogists have simply admitted the problem and acknowledge the various dates. Hannah and her sister Betsey married Fisk brothers, William (to Hannah) and John (to Betsey).

It may be that William Roby married a second Hannah who was the mother of Luke.
