Mother of late Avrum Freeman and Joyce Freeman Rothenberg. Grandmother of four. Miriam's birth name was a tribute to her father's sister, Merka Wolk, nee Koblenz who died shortly after childbirth. After losing their first born, Avrum, who died in the Albany Hospital where he was born from what we call SIDS, she took pleasure in being a mother to her daughter Joyce, and she took immense pride in grandchildren who she loved with every fiber of her being.
