Compton, Mrs. Verna - (Loving Mother) - age 74, of Oakdale, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2000 at 12:39 p.m. in The Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, John Zumstein. She is survived by sons, Jackie Compton of Oakdale and Lonnie Wilson of St. Ignatius, MT; daughters, Sue Rigopolos of Oak Ridge, Betty Cromewell of Cookeville, Edith Powell of Harriman, Helena Wilson of Oak Ridge and Carlene Zumstein of Berea, KY; grandson, Chris Wilson of Oakdale; brother, Edwin Grant of Kentucky; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 18, 2000 from 6-9 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens, Harriman.
