Mr. Odis Richard Sanderson
Mr. Sanderson was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Army in World War II and retired from Reynolds Metals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ables Sanderson; two sons, Bruce Coleman and Terry Floyd Sanderson; sisters, Vesta Johnson and Velma Roberts; and brothers, Raymond and Roy Sanderson.
Mr. Sanderson leaves his daughters, Charlotte Brown of Sheffield and Beverly Mitchell of Cherokee. He is also survived by four sons, Roger Sanderson, Leighton, Donald Wayne Sanderson, Iuka, Miss., Gary Sanderson, Sheffield, Gregory Sanderson, Cherokee; sisters, Eva Borden, Cherokee, Imogene Askew, Tuscumbia; brothers, Odell Sanderson, Muscle Shoals, Charles Ray Sanderson, Cleveland, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at Harris Chapel Baptist Church, with Brother Jack Coons officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Spry Serenity Chapel, Sheffield, is directing..
