Leo was the son of Joseph Gosselin and Eugenie (Rousseau) Gosselin. He was married to Thelma and the father of one sonLeo Albert Gosselin and daughter, Rita Gault . Grandchildren include Brenda Williams, Kathy Longsderff, John, Jeff, James Gosselin, Deb Dube, Diana and David St. Laurent. He passed away before the birth of his 14 great-grandchildren.
