Mrs. Sarah Rebecca Davenport, 88, Athens Rt. 5, died Friday at 6:30 a.m. in the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Funeral services were Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Spry Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Robert Hasslam officiating, with burial in the Athens Roselawn Cemetery.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Vivian Hodson and Mrs. Vona Terry, both of Athens Rt. 5, Mrs. Leona Tucker, Decatur, Mrs. Lila Spain, Birmingham, Mrs. Martha Glaze, Athens Rt. 2, and Mrs. Rebecca Leopard, Athens Rt. 3; three sons, Andrew Davenport, Tuscumbia, Alvis Davenport, Athens Rt. 8, and Lawrence Davenport, Athens Rt. 5. Other survivors include two brothers, Ingraham Rose, Rogersville Rt. 3, and John T. Rose, Hartselle; 37 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
She was a lifelong resident of Limestone County and a member of the Temperance Oak Baptist Church.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
