Victoria was the tenth child born to Joseph Martin (1844-1927) and Philomene (nee Isabelle, 1845-1925) on 08 Jan 1881 in South Ford River Township, Delta Co., MI. She married Charles Hellyard Black aka "Charles R. Black" (1880-1939) on 26 Apr 1905 in Escanaba, Delta Co., MI. They had 2 sons, Donald Hugh (1906-1961) and Robert James (1908-1989) before moving, first, to Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky by the 1910 Federal Census, then to Clinton, Clinton Co., Iowa around 1911-12, to Evansville, Vanderburgh Co., Indiana by 1913 then to Regina and Moosejaw, both in Saskatchewan Province, Canada by 1919 thru 1922. Finally, they permanently relocated to Corvallis, Benton Co., Oregon where Charles worked as a piano tuner (after many years as a piano salesman) until his death in 1939. Victoria moved in with son, Robert, after he settled, permanently, in Studio City, CA by 1947. While in California, she did housekeeping for hire. She died of heart disease at Toluca Lake Convalescent Hospital in North Hollywood, CA in 1966. Her body was cremated at Grandview Crematory in Glendale, CA and ashes were interred under its West Mausoleum at the Chapel at Grandview Crematory. (not available for public viewing as it is in a "community" interment.)
