Frank V. Forthoffer, 85, of Spencer, passed away at the Bloomington Hospital March 6, 2010. He was born August 26, 1924 in Indianapolis to Marion G. and Lottie Mae (Waggoner) Forthoffer. He was a retired mechanic for Chrysler. Frank was an Army WWII veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, receiving three bronze stars, and a purple heart. He was a member of the Spencer VFW, American Legion, Sheriff's Association, UAW, and Democratic Party. He was also a member of the Pleasant Hill Community Church.

Mr. Forthoffer is survived by his son Stephen (Jaunita) Forthoffer of Spencer; a daughter, Ava Denny of Spencer; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice "Bea" Forthoffer in 2006; a son, Marion Forthoffer; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Bro. Virgil McNeil will officiate. Burial will follow at Gosport Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Spencer American Legion and VFW.
