Erwin E. Baumgarten, 66, Reedsburg. died on Monday, August 15, 1988 at a Madison hospital.
He was born on October 3, 1921, in Loganville, the son of William and Emma (Stolte) Baumgarten. On December 29, 1946, he was married to the former Mary Ellen B. Gardner. He was a farmer in the Loganville area for 18 years and later worked as a quality control inspector at Hankscraft for 21 years, retiring in September, 1987. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen; three daughters, Kathleen Gengelbach, Sun Prairie, Gloria (Mrs. Alan) Burke, Monona, Susan (Mrs. Roy) Koz, Chicago, Ill; three grandchildren, Robb Burke, Chad and Kimberley Gengelbach; four brothers, Martin, North Freedom, Edmund, Oshkosh, William and Melvin, both of Loganville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol and four brothers.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 18, at St. John's Lutheran church, Reedsburg, with Dr. James Steinbrecher officiating.
