William Walter Landwehr lost his life in an explosion of an oil tank on the E.M. Wilson lease in Humble, TX. The explosion took place at 5:15 PM, Thursday, December 11, 1930. William, who was working on top of the tank, alone, was killed instantly and his body was badly multilated and burned. William was survived by his Wife, Georga Eva Crain Landwehr, three sons: Barnard, Donald and Bert and four daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Mallott and Husband, Willard, Mrs. Elizabeth Bauer and Husband, Roland, Miss Georgina and Miss Lois Landwehr and two grandchildren: Willard Earl Mallott, Jr. and Doris Marie Bauer all of Houston. William was also survived by two sisters: Mrs. S. W. Scurlock of Beaumont, TX and Mrs. Elizabeth Blair
