Served with Co. G, 119th New York Vol. Inf. during the Civil War of 1861-65.
But Pvt. Dilber's war came to an end on July 3rd 1863 while his regiment was repelling Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg, PA.
He died later that day of his wounds and was buried in a local cemetery until Nov. of 1863, when he was reburied in the New York area, Section E, Grave 51 in the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
