Ben Agor, Yakima sheep man, was instantly killed and Lillian Grasser was seriously injured when the coupe in which they were riding plunged over a 15-foot embankment on the canyon highway Sunday morning at 9 o'clock.

Making the turn at the top of the hill above Wymer at high speed, the car careened back and forth before hurdling the embankment and landing upside down in the gully at the right of the highway, witnesses reported to Philip A. Davidson, Kittitas County coroner, who was investigating the accident.

Windows in the coupe had to be smashed to remove Mrs. Grasser and the body of Agor, who died of a broken neck. The injured woman was removed to St. Elizabeth's hospital in Yakima by ambulance and the body of Agor, who was driving, was taken to Yakima. Agor had left about 7 o'clock in the morning for Ellensburg to see about getting some feed for his sheep, members of his family reported.

Mrs. Grasser, who has been working at Green Acres Tavern on the Old Town road adjoining the place where Agor had been living with his mother, accompanied him on the trip, and they were returning from Ellensburg when the accident happened. C. E. Segeman of Ellensburg, whose car was following the Agor machine, told officers that the Agor car swerved to the extreme left of the highway on the turn at the top of the Wymer grade. The car wove back and forth a time or two before plunging off the right side of the road, the witness reported.

Coroner Davison reported that there was evidence of drinking. Mrs. Grasser was conscious after the wreck but was badly shocked and was unable to give the officer much information.

Agor was born in Yakima. He attended the public schools there, Marquette High School and Washington State College. After college he entered business with his father, the late Pete Agor pioneer valley wool grower. Since his father's death he had carried on the business. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Agor; three children, Dorothy, Jane, and Benn; his mother, Mrs. Henrietta Agor of Yakima; his grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Powell of Yakima. Shaw & Sons has charge of funeral arrangements.
