US Congressman. He attended the De La Salle Institute and during World War I, served overseas as a Private First Class, in the 69th Regiment, 165th Infantry, U.S. Army. After the war, he graduated from the Brooklyn Law School in 1929, served as deputy and acting commissioner of hospitals of New York City, (1929-34) and was chief field deputy, United States Bureau of Internal Revenue, (1935-38). In 1939, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-sixth Congress, serving until 1941 and was reelected to to the Seventy-eighth Congress, serving (1943-45). After his term, he engaged in the advertising and the insurance business until his death at age 49.
