Tanya E. Banachowski, 74, of Rossford, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born, in Toledo, on February 13, 1936, to Rudolf and Elizabeth (Karius) Maier. She was a homemaker, and a graduate of St Ursula Academy and Mary Manse College. She enjoyed singing, traveling, and bowling, and went to many tournaments with her teammates. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Andrew Banachowski; children, Marc (Elaine) Banachowski, Ann (Bill) Mishka, John Banachowski, Lynn (Terry) Dawley and Keith (Jessica) Banachowski; grandchildren, Adam Banachowski, Tim Mishka, Zach Banachowski, Jasmin Banachowski, Amy Banachowski, Anna Dawley, and Lydia Banachowski; brother, Rudi (Jenny) Maier, and sisters, Rita (Gene) Sartor and Trudy (Ralph) Morone. A Mass of the Resurrection was held Saturday, July 24, at All Saints Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. Entombment was in Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
