English Statesman, Educator. Served as a a scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford, as a a soldier who was knighted by Henry IV of France, and as a MP for St. Mawes & Lostwithiel. He taught Robert Dudley, son of the Earl of Leicester at Christ Church College, Oxford. He was sent to Scotland and became a favorite of King James. One of his sons, James, signed the death warrant of King Charles I.
