DIES OF HEART TROUBLE
Fred DeWert, a well known and respected citizen of this city, died at his home on East Fourth street at 1 o'clock a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27. He had been in failing health for a number of weeks and death was due to heart trouble and other ailments. Mr. DeWert was past 81 years of age, and had been a resident of this city for many years. For a long time he had followed his trade of wagon maker at his shop on West Main street.
At the time this is written (Wednesday evening) funeral arrangements have not been completed.
A suitable life sketch of deceased will be published next week.

OBITUARY OF FRED DEWERT
The subject of this sketch was born in Dissen, Germany, in the year 1842, and died at his home in Appleton City, Mo., December 27, 1922. He moved with his family to this place from Montrose about 22 years ago, since which time he has been numbered among the town's respected and law-abiding citizens, honest and upright in his dealings with his fellow men. Surviving him are his wife and nine children, all of whom were here before or following his death. One daughter, Mrs. Ella Mae Godfrey, died a year ago in Kansas City. The living children are: Mrs. E. Estes and Mrs. O. Collinsworth, Kansas; Mrs. T. H. Gentzel, Appleton City, Mo.; Mrs. Walter Cruce, Iola, Kas.; Mrs. W. L. Snodgrass and Mrs. H. Russell, Okmulgee, Okla., and Mrs. S. E. Kurman, Fresno, Calif.
The remains were taken to Kansas City Friday, funeral services being held Saturday at 1 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Estes, followed by interment in Mt. Washington cemetery.
