Special Effects Film Technician. Cecil Dewey Love was an Oscar-winning American film technician in the category of visual effects and special effects. After arriving in Hollywood in 1911, the only job he could find was cleaning the pipes for Stanley Streamer. Later, he was an employee of Acme Tool Manufacturing Company. He was the co-recipient with Lindwood Dunn of the 1945 Academy Award for Technical Achievement Award for the "design and construction of the Acme-Dunn optical printer." He, with Dunn, received the 1985 Academy Award of Merit, "the concept, design, and development of the Acme-Dunn optical printer for special effects in motion pictures." He worked uncredited with the 1970 film "Airport."
