OBITUARY: The Hugo Daily News, Tuesday, May 19, 1992
Helen Needham Askew -- Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday for Helen Needham Askew. She died Monday, May 18, 1992, in Paris, Tx. hospital. She was 89. Mrs. Askew was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was born April 7, 1903, in Hugo, I.T. to Enoch and Nettie (McMurtrey) Needham. She lived in Hugo all her life, and married Carl Askew, Sr. on Feb. 22, 1925 in Hugo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1974. Surviving relatives include one son, C. H. Corky Askew, Jr. of Hugo, one daughter, Jeraldine Waldine, Hugo; two brothers: Herbert Needham, Hugo, and Frantz Needham, Chelsea, Ok; two sisters: Virginia Houser and Mary Earhart, both of Hugo; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be in the Darrough Pavilion in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home. Rev. Clayton Forthman will officiate.
