French Monarch. He reigned from 768 to 771 as King of the Franks. Carloman died on 4 December 771, at the Villa of Samoussy at the age of 20 years; the death, sudden and convenient though it was, was set down to natural causes (a severe nosebleed is sometimes claimed as being at fault).

Gravesite Details

Carloman was buried in Saint Reims Basilica, but he was reburied in the Basilique Saint-Denis in the 13th century.
