My Wonderful dad who we affectionately called "Pap".

Mr. William Aubrey "Bill" Jackson, age 80, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on May 27, 1930, in Bedford, Kentucky. He was the son of the late, Emmett Edward & Cordia Varble Jackson. He was raised in Trimble County, Kentucky and was a 1949 graduate of Trimble County High School. He spent most of his life in Trimble County until 1987 when he moved to downtown Madison. Aubrey was inducted into the United States Army in 1949 and rose to the rank of Corporal during the Korean War. He was proud to have become a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne from and completed 19 jumps. He was united in marriage to Julia L. Stockdale in Vevay, Indiana and had four loving children to bless their home. Bill was employed with Rotary Lift in Madison for 39 years retiring in February 1994 as the Quality Control Manager. Bill also had enjoyed becoming a Real Estate Broker in 1968 and had began that career with Harold Hamilton. He later owned and operated Jackson-Welty Real Estate Agency for several years. He operated River City Marathon for fifteen years in downtown Madison. Bill owned and operated Paul's Burgers & Shakes and later it became B.J.'s Burger & Shake for eight years. His hobbies included watching the Cincinnati Reds Baseball, University of Kentucky basketball, bird feeding, working with flowers and growing beautiful gardens, renovating homes, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He had been the past president of the PTA at the Milton Elementary School and had served three times as the past master for the Milton Masonic Lodge No. 947 F. & A. M. He was a faithful member of the Milton Baptist Church where he had served as the Sunday school superintendent. Aubrey was expecting his tenth grandchild. Bill was known for his kindness, generosity and his big heart. William died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 3:48 p.m. at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville Kentucky.



A LOVING FAMILY
Bill will be missed by his loving wife of fifty eight years: Julia L. Stockdale Jackson of Madison, Indiana; his loving sons: Denny Jackson and his wife Fritzi of Milton, Kentucky and Shane Jackson & his wife, Billie of Vevay, Indiana; his loving daughters: Vedie Tingle and her husband: Jeff of Springfield, Kentucky and Libby Kinman and her husband: John of Vevay, Indiana; his loving grandchildren: Byron, Ryan, Jenna, Barrett & his wife, Rachel, Landon, Whitney, Emily, Shane, & Will; his step grandchildren: Kyle & Jessie; his adoring great-grandchildren: Mikon, Jade, Owen, and Bryce; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Cordia Varble Jackson; his granddaughter, Jessica who passed away in 1974; his brothers, Owen & Graham Jackson; his sisters, Mary Stockdale & Lavina "Dottie" Thomas.



FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., by Brother Tom Starks at the Milton Baptist Church, 10076 Highway 421 North in Milton, Kentucky. Interment was in the Bedford I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Bedford, Kentucky.



VISITATION
Friends called on Friday from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Milton Baptist Church 10076 Highway 421 North in Milton, Kentucky.



SPECIAL SERVICES
Masonic services were conducted by the Milton Masonic Lodge No. 947 F. & AM on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Milton Baptist Church; Full military honors were conducted at the graveside by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.



MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
