US Congressman. He was born one of eleven children in Peru, Clinton County, New York, (now Ausable Township, Clinton County, New York), to Richard Keese Sr. and his wife Anna Hallock Keese on November 23, 1794. He then entered politics and decided to run for a seat in the United States Congress and was elected. A Member of the Jacksonian-Democratic Party, he then served New York's 19th District while representing the Twentieth Congress in the United States House of Representatives from March 4, 1827, to March 3, 1829. After his term in the United States Congress expired he was succeeded in office by United States Representative Isaac Finch on March 4, 1829.
