Author. He was a Belgian writer and poet, noted for his style of detailed description themes. During World War I, he served as the secretary of a national food relief committee in Antwerp. After the war he started an advertising agency and also published the Alvoorder magazine. His most celebrated novels included “Lijmen” (1924), “Kaas” (1933), “Tsjip” (1934) “en Het Been” (1938) , "The Tankship" (1942) and various poem collected works. In 1960, he was posthumously received the National Literary Award.
