After the war he started an advertising agency and also published the Alvoorder magazine. His most celebrated novels included “Lijmen” (1924), “Kaas” (1933), “Tsjip” (1934) “en Het Been” (1938) , "The Tankship" (1942) and various poem collected works. In 1960, he was posthumously received the National Literary Award.
