From the Alhambra newspaper:
The funeral for Miss Maude Harrison was held at the home of the parents, 1816 Walnut Street, Alhambra, at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, September 16. She passed away the previous Thursday at the age of 21 years. The family had been sent for during the day and all were present at the time of her death. The family came to California from New Jersey only about three months ago on account of Miss Harrison's serious illness, which had begun the winter before, and only about five weeks had been spent in Alhambra. While they were almost strangers, they were not without friends, and these had come to realize that the departed, while of a quiet disposition, was a very capable young lady of high Christian character. The services were conducted by Rev. Luther A. Rice, pastor of the Marengo Avenue Methodist Church, and interment was in Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
