US Congressman. He was elected first as an Adams Candidate, then as an Anti-Jacksonian to represent New Jersey as an At-Large delegate in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1827 to 1831. He was first interred in the Old Burying Ground in Orange, New Jersey, then was re-interred in Rosedale Cemetery soon after it opened in 1840.
