US Congressman. Born in Bernalillo, New Mexico, he attended St. Michael's College New Mexico, Georgetown University Washington D.C. and graduated from the St. Louis University Missouri, in 1871. He engaged in agricultural pursuits, sheep raising, was president of the First National Bank of Santa Fe (1890-94), member of the council of the New Mexico Legislature in (1889, 1891, 1895) and a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1896. In 1899, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-sixth Congress, serving until 1901. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he engaged in banking, in stock raising and was appointed Territorial insurance commissioner in 1906, serving until his death in Bernalillo, New Mexico. US Congreeman Francisco Pedro from New Mexico, was his cousin.
