OGDEN –Ina Mead Larsen Alston, 91, died Monday, April 7, 2008 in Ogden.

She was born August 23, 1916 in Spring City, Utah, a daughter of Louis Dean and Viola Madsen Larsen. She and her family moved to Bingham Canyon when she was eight where she lived until her graduation from Bingham High School. She attended LDS Business School and later began working as a medical secretary for Dr. Paul Richards at Bingham Hospital.

In 1940, Mead married Jack H. Alston in San Antonio, Texas on June 23, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

She worked in real estate in California and as a medical secretary in Virginia. Mead was a great supporter of the American Red Cross and volunteered many years teaching CPR and working in blood banks. She enjoyed moving to new locations and meeting new friends. She loved to play golf and bridge, and enjoyed knitting and needlepoint.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; son, Jack Dean Alston; daughter, Cheryl Lowe; son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Penny Alston; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held the Burch Creek Ward Chapel, 4955 Adams Avenue.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City, UT.
