U.S. Congressman. Born in Stratham, New Hampshire, he graduated from Harvard University in 1815, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1819 and commenced to practice law in Rochester, New Hampshire. He was a member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives, (1823, 1825-26). In 1827, he was elected as an Adams candidate to the Twentieth Congress, serving until 1829. After his term, he resumed the practice of law and was an original member of the New Hampshire Historical Society. He died at age 37 in Rochester, New Hampshire.
