U.S. Congressman. He attended Stratton Business College Illinois and was clerk and letter carrier in the Chicago City Post Office, (1902-1914). He studied law at Loyola University, graduating in 1914, was admitted to the bar and commenced practice law in Chicago. In 1920, he was a delegate to the Illinois State constitutional convention and was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress, serving (1921-23). He was again elected to the Sixty-ninth Congress, serving (1925-27). An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law until his death at age 65.
