U.S. Congressman. He attended the Minnesota Farm School, University of Minnesota, graduated from Yale University in 1922 and engaged in agricultural pursuits in 1923. He was a member of the Minnesota Mound School Board and a member of the Minnesota State House of Representatives, (1939-40). In 1941, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-seventh and to the Seventy-eighth Congresses, serving until 1945. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he returned to agricultural pursuits until his death at age 73.
