Religious Leader. He served as the fifth Episcopal Bishop of Washington, D.C. from 1962 to 1977. Also served as a Navy Chaplain during World War II, and was Rector of St. John's Norwood Parish, and a Cordjutor Bishop from 1959 to 1962.
