U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Dartmouth College, in 1806, studied law, was admitted to the bar and practiced law in Westmoreland and Keene, New Hampshire. In 1819, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixteenth Congress, serving until 1821. After his term, he practice law and appointed judge of the court of common pleas, in 1825. After his judgeship, he engaged in agricultural pursuits until his death at age 89.
