My Dad, mentor and best golfing buddy. Graduated from Wichita HS North and joined the USMC in 1948. Honorably discharged as a Marine Staff SGT in 1953, he was a proud Korean War vet. Became a Wichita Police Officer upon his return from the war, and graduated from Wichita State University three years later. Moved to Southern California in 1957. Served as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, retiring in 1977 as a Lieutenant Commander. A graduate of Southwestern Law School, he retired as a senior L.A. County Deputy District Attorney in 1988. Dad was an avid fan of streetcars and urban railroads, and could tell you anything you ever wanted to know about the greater L.A. metropolitan trolley systems. Loved golf even if it didn't love him back. Ditto potato chips, burgers and Pernicano's (of San Diego) pizza. My father was a gentle man and a gentleman in all respects.

Note: I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who have taken the time to pay their respects here at my Dad's page; each message means more to me than I can say. I'd like to especially thank the late Mr. Charles Edgerton (~always~), the original sponsor of this page, who so generously transferred that sponsorship to me. With the eagles, Chick, ~always~ with the eagles... Again, thank you all.
Warmest regards,
Don/JCFHS '38
