Mae A. Hagerman Bankert, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care, August 26, 2011.

Born in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Esther Spaulding Hagerman, and was the wife of 57 years to Leroy C. Bankert, who died in 2003.

Mrs. Bankert was a member of the Sacred Heart Basilica and enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Ocean City, MD, as well as doing volunteer work.

Survivors include her daughter, Victoria J. "Vicky" DePinto and husband, Joseph of Fort Mill, SC; a son, Stephen E. "Steve" Bankert of Chandler, AZ; a sister, Yvonne C. Fuhrman and husband, Glenn of Hanover; three grandchildren, Robin Theisen, Christopher DePinto, and Nicole Kerr; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Marchio and Catherine Hagerman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., September 1, 2011, at the Sacred Heart Basilica, Hanover, with The Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown.
