Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Corporal in Company K, 8th US Cavalry for action in 1868 and 1869 in the Arizona Territory. His citation reads "Bravery in actions with Indians."
