Indian Wars Medal of Honor recipient. Served as a Sergeant, in Company C, 8th U.S. Cavalry. On July 8th to 11th, 1873, he with other platoon leaders performed skilled service duties in action against hostile Indians near Fort Selden, New Mexico Territory. His Medal was issued on April 12, 1875.
