US Congressman. Born in Wilmington, Ohio, he graduated from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., in 1892 and became successful in banking pursuits. For many years he was a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions and was a member of the Democratic Ohio State committee. In 1907, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixtieth, Sixty-first and Sixty-second Congresses, serving until 1913. Declining candidacy for reelection, he returned to banking and served as president of the Ohio Bankers' Association. He was elected a member of the Democratic State committee, serving and was president of the Clinton County National Bank & Trust Company, until his death at age 83 in Wilmington, Ohio.
