Photographer. Kate Cory did what no one had done before or since, she lived in the Hopi Villages on the Arizona mesas, achieving an intimacy and trust with the people there that make her pictures unique. Working in isolation, she developed her negatives in a primitive darkroom, using rainwater. She is considered the West's most famous artists. Her paintings can be found today in the Sharlot Hall Museum, and the Smithsonian Institution.
