Old-West Explorer. With famed mountain man Jim Bridger as his guide, discovered "Berthoud Pass" in 1861. Capt. Berthoud was the Chief Engineer for the Colorado Central Railroad. He was also the Chief Engineer for the famous Georgetown Loop Railroad. The town of Berthoud, Colorado was named for him.
