Ballet Dancer and Historian. Studied at the Leningrad Choreographic School with Vaganova and graduated into the Kirov Ballet in 1933. She left in 1941 and published her first press article that same year and became a faculty member of the Leningrad Theatre Institute in 1951. Her many writings include detailed histories of Russian and Western ballet and critical biographies including: 'C. Chabukiani' in 1956, 'Nijinsky' in 1974 and 'Agrippina Iakovlevna Vaganova' in 1986.
