Thurman Harley Johnson, 74, of Goldthwaite, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008, in Burnet, Texas.

He was born on September 8, 1933 in San Saba County to parents, Leon Johnson and Hazel Hibler Johnson.

Thurman met Jane Ann Steen and they were married on June 17, 1955 in Goldthwaite. He lived in Mills County most of his life. Thurman served in the Air Force and was a farmer/rancher at the time of his death. He was affiliated with the Methodist church.

Thurman is survived by his wife, Jane Ann Johnson, of Goldthwaite; three daughters: Mina Kay Martin and her husband, Gary, of Burnet; Ruth Ann Bowland and her husband, Kenny, of Burnet; and Della Rae McCoy and her husband, Randy, of Goldthwaite; five grandchildren: Dustin, Maegan, and Manda Martin; and Kayla and Rease Bowland; two step-grandchildren: Matt and Mitchell McCoy; twin brother, Herman Johnson, and his wife, Frieda, of Goldthwaite; one sister, Yvonne Childress and her husband, Charles, of Goldthwaite; and a number of nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 1, 2008, with Doug Holtzclaw officiating. Interment took place at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery in Goldthwaite.
